What You Want is Good Golf Scores

By | November 24, 2010

Looking for good Golf Scores – Do you think of yourself as a hack on the golf course? Are you embarrassed to tell your golf scores to anyone? Then you will want to read my blog. I am on a quest to get my golf scores to a better than hack average. Both leagues I golf on the average score for nine is 48. Is this you? My average was 49.

It has been said that the average for all golfers is 99.9 for 18 holes and there are 26 million golfers. So, don’t feel lonely. There are lots of us in that hackers range and many more even worse.

I am trying to get a grooved golf swing where I can score in the low 40′s or upper 30′s and be the best or second best golfer in the league. Would you like to do that also. Then follow me on my quest, see me work on it and learn from me. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

First I want to tell you that most of these events occurred previously and the tails about my current golfing scores have been occurring over the summer. I began this blog in October and it is now November as I post these but the current events happened June, July, August, September, October and November of 2010.

If you are just now starting to read my blog I would advise that you go to the beginning and read back up to these current posts so that you understand how life got in front of golf and what led to the loss of my golf swing and how I am getting it back.

Wait a minute!

Before I get to the surprise I want to tell you something about the perfect golf swing.

I started out telling you about my progress towards a better golf swing. I have taken lessons, I have purchased a newer driver, I have played more golf this year then all the golf over the last 12 years but I am only slightly better. I hit drives that are similar to what I used to do when I was a shooter but I am inconsistant. I know that part of my problem is that I want to hit those big shots and I over swing.

How do I know that? you are wondering. Because, on my last shot from the fairway. I used my three metal and said to myself and all around me that I was just going to make good contact and not over swing to hit this club. And what happens? I hit a three metal about 250 yards and straight as an arrow.

When I play golf with my wife, I hit seven great drives. Why is that? Because I am not trying to impress her. She has trouble seeing my shots so I just hit my clubs for practice and hit them well. But then when I get into competition, I over swing as I am trying to show my fellow golfers that there is still a stud that can hit the ball long like I used to and then I have a tendency to over swing.

So, what Male enhancement prescription is my reason for telling you this? I see many golfers who are hacks that do many of the same things I do now which causes me problems. I am here to tell you right now that over swinging to hit the big shots is for hacks. There I’ve said it and I mean it. If you really want to become a good golfer, you must be consistent and boring.

You should know what it means to be consistant. After all, we talk about a good golf swing but really what we want is to be a good golf scorer. We want to be competitive and shoot golf scores in the low 40′s for nine holes or in the low 80′s for 18. You and I both know that when you tell someone that you shot 102 the other day they don’t even bother to look at you but if you said I shot an 81 you get the look of admiration from your fellow golfers.

Consistency means putting the ball in play all the time. When you get a double or triple boogie what caused that? You put the ball out of play and lost it or had to pull it out from your unplayable lie to where you could play it. Then you could not reach the green with that third shot. So you had to chip and that didn’t work to well and then you maybe had to chipped again or two or three putted. Sound familiar?

Consistancy is the name of the game. Forget about 250 or 300 yard drives or 160 yard eight irons or 100 yard sand wedge or any of those other things that put you in the elite classification. What if you hit a drive 230 or less and had to use a five iron to hit the 160 yard second shot and did it with consistency. Wouldn’t that be more fun?
