This Was the Perfect Golf Swing

The Perfect Golf Swing – Do you think of yourself as a hack on the golf course? Are you embarrassed to tell your golf scores to anyone? Then you will want to read my blog. I am on a quest to get my golf scores to a better than hack average. Both leagues I golf on the average score for nine is 48. Is this you? My average was 49.

It has been said that the average for all golfers is 99.9 for 18 holes and there are 26 million golfers. So, don’t feel lonely. There are lots of us in that hackers range and many more even worse.

I am trying to get a grooved golf swing where I can score in the low 40’s or upper 30’s and be the best or second best golfer in the league. Would you like to do that also. Then follow me on my quest, see me work on it and learn from me. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

First I want to tell you that most of these events occurred previously and the tails about my current golfing scores have been occurring over the summer. I began this blog in October and it is now November as I post these but the current events happened June, July, August, September, October and November of 2010.

If you are just now starting to read my blog I would advise that you go to the beginning and read back up to these current posts so that you understand how life got in front of golf and what led to the loss of my golf swing and how I am getting it back.

After getting our attention, the foursome in front shows us his ball. This was the perfect golf swing result.

Sure enough, there is my partners ball, five feet off the green on the far side. I have no idea how far that ball traveled but I have never seen anyone hit a ball so far. I am guessing 320 yards or more. The hole is about 375 yards, 225 yards out and after the right turn it is 150 yards to the green.

To make up for the easy hole they have made the green really hard. It has about a 10 degree slope and many undulations so that there is not a straight putt anywhere. I chip unto the green but I hit it a little hard and the greens are really hard due to very little rain recently and it rolls 10 feet past the hole and down hill.

He cannot make up his mind whether to also chip or putt. He decides to chip and he goes past the hole also. We end up two putting and get a four. What a waste! Still we are only one over par after six holes. Remember, I am still eight strokes ahead of the fourth place guy. So if I can shoot 40 or less it will be impossible for him to catch me. Plus I have just witnessed the greatest drive I have ever seen, ever.

We go to the next hole which is exactly the opposite of the previous hole. It is a left hand turn at the 150 yard stick. In this particular case it takes a drive of about 250 yards to get to the 150 marker and about 270 to go through the fairway to the rough on the other side.

The hole is on a slight diagonal, so instead of a 90 degree turn it is about 70 degrees. That means as you go further away from the 150 stake towards the green it will take a longer drive to get into the rough. About fifty yards in from the 150 stake is the 100 yard marker and a creek. It is very small creek but when there is plenty of water you will go into it and it will cost you a stroke.

I have never seen anyone go into the creek on their drive when they are in the fairway or in the rough on the other side of the fairway. Therefore, it is only the second shot to worry about. One Sunday when I was playing with my wife I hit a drive to the creek and was just short in the middle of the fairway. I am not sure if that was all me or maybe I landed on the cart path to give me that extra distance but up until we play this hole that is the farthest drive I have seen on this hole and I hit it. Except for this occasion.

Here is a video of Anthony Kim – A great swing but something it would be hard for an amateur to duplicate, my back hurts just watching ;

Next post he hits another boomer.
