First I want to tell you that most of these events occurred previously and the tails about my current golf scores have been occurring over the summer. It is October as I post these but the current events happened June, July, August and September of 2010.
If you are just now starting to read my blog I would advise that you go to the beginning and read back up to current so that you understand what I am talking about.

My golf swing turns to crap.
In late 1997 the market begins to sag. We finished up all of the programs we were working on but there was nothing behind them. In early 1998, I got laid off. I had been putting together a plan that would help this company generate dollars and to keep me employed but they just pulled the rug out from underneath me.
My handshake agreement ment nothing. They gave me a severence package and three weeks vacation money but I was out of a job.
Luckily, I had been making good money and was putting most of it away. So my savings account and portfolio was in pretty good shape. So, I continued to play golf on Sunday with my buddies and also with the league. But with jobs being short, I knew it would not last, so I began making plans to stop playing golf. Besides, the perfect golf swing was beginning to fail me and I was not having any fun on the course.
I did enjoy my time off as my daughter and I got to know each other when she was on breaks and summer vacation. We spent many hours just talking about our lives and got to enjoy each other. Sad to say that is something that never happened with my son and I.
I love them both dearly and they are both wonderful people but my son and I are not as close as my daughter and I. Which is generally the case anyway. Not sure why but thats life.
I called many of my vendor friends but they were all struggling and no job was to be had. So I had heard about making money on the Internet and decided I needed to try that. My second year of being unemployed was really getting tough. I continued to pay for my daughters college and room/board. So we began squeezing the dollars. My wife went and got a job after being a domestic engineer for 25 years.
I was pretty stubborn. I was a highly skilled engineer and refused to give away all my experience for beginners pay. So I continued to be unemployed and only began playing 3 to 5 times a year.
My scores began to soar. Now another change occurs.
See ya in the next post.
