How to get a better golf swing

After yesterday’s posts about the golf swing it got me thinking about a number of things related to golf and the golf swing which I am going to share with you.

1-Tempo is extremely important to golf swing speed

2-With technology it would be easy to become a certified golf instructor

3-With this new technology it would be very easy to analyze anyone’s golf swing.

So what am I talking about? Well if you missed my last two posts you wouldn’t know what I am talking about . So, if you would like to catch up, why not go back to those last two post and review them.

Item one of the good golf swing

Now, let’s see what I am talking about with item number one. The article and both videos used tempo as part of their need to increase golf swing speed which also results in more distance with more speed. Remember though that speed kills or just hurt your back or pull a muscle.

They talked about increasing golf swing speed by using aq combination easy controlled swing  with good tempo for going back on the back swing and good tempo going forward with a good control forward swing.

The tempo should be one to one. In other words, your back swing should be one second and the forward swing should be the same or very close to that. It was stated that when having a good smooth golf swing you must have that ratio of one to one.

With Technology it is easier to become an Instructor

With the Internet and the technology associated with it it has become much easier to get a certification to become a golf swing instructor. I spent a couple of hours trolling the Internet looking for what is required to become a certified golf swing instructor and I found it to be surprisingly easy to do and inexpensive.

It can cost as little as $600 plus transportation, room and food to become an instructor or even as much as $10,000 depending on who wants to teach you and what they want to do.

But with the Internet you can get you training online for a very minimal fee with no flying or room and board. This was not possible 10 years ago or more, so it is a great addition to methods for becoming certified

Gadgets that help training for a great swing

New technology is wonderful. I am still trying to catch up with it all but it has sure changed the way we can communicate.

The technology used by the iPhone, iPod, iPad, the Android and others has allowed us to do a wide variety of tasks we could not have done even 5 years ago.

For an example, we now have devices we can attached to our golf clubs and when we swing the club it will send a signal to your blue tooth phone or iPad that has an App in it that will recreate your swing in 3D and color to show you how good or how bad your swing is.

Then it will replay your swing for you so you can analyze what you are doing. That could be with any clubs you choose. From your driver to your wedge to your putter.

If you choose to send the swing analysis to someone to review and they have that same App on their phone then you can email it to them and then they can view what you just got through viewing. Great Eh!

Well just imagine combining the technologies and begin teaching people how to golf while using them. There is instant feed back and with your training to become a certified golf instructor you could help them create a great golf swing in a very short period of time.

To help illustrate what I am talking about, I have taken a recording off of YouTube from Paul Wilson to help you understand the good tempo golf swing.

So please watch and see what I mean.

In a good golf swing the body only rotates at approximately 2.5 mph. If the body doesn’t turn very fast and it’s telling the arms how fast to come down the overall swing would appear slow and effortless.

The power is generated through the club hinging and re-hinging in the wrists. The looser the wrists, the more clubhead speed that is generated. If you’ve ever had some golf instruction or lessons in the past you will have worked on your wrist hinge but in doing so you were most likely trying to hit the ball solely with your arms. This hitting tightens your wrists and actually slows the club down.

Now does that all make sense? I think you have the idea. Just imagine what his golf swing tips would look like with one of those blue tooth swing devices.

He has a great golf swing but I could never duplicate what he was trying to teach. Hey while I thinking about that, please make sure you sign up to my mailing list so I can notify you when I send out my posts for the perfect golf swing and the equipment

See ya with the next post

Yours Truly,

Lou M.
