I am Still Having Problems With My Golf Swing

My Golf Swing – Do you think of yourself as a hack on the golf course? Are you embarrassed to tell your golf scores to anyone? Then you will want to read my blog. I am on a quest to get my golf scores to a better than hack average. Both leagues I golf on the average score for nine is 48. Is this you? My average was 49.

It has been said that the average for all golfers is 99.9 for 18 holes and there are 26 million golfers. So, don’t feel lonely. There are lots of us in that hackers range and many more even worse.

I am trying to get a grooved golf swing where I can score in the low 40’s or upper 30’s and be the best or second best golfer in the league. Would you like to do that also.

Then follow me on my quest, see me work on it and learn from me. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

First I want to tell you that most of these events occurred previously and the tails about my current golfing scores have been occurring over the summer. I began this blog in October and it is now November as I post these but the current events happened June, July, August, September, October and November of 2010.

If you are just now starting to read my blog I would advise that you go to the beginning and read back up to these current posts so that you understand how life got in front of golf and what led to the loss of my golf swing and how I am getting it back.

==================================

My drive on this hole is not very good. I hit the ground just before I hit the ball and it puts spin that gives me a very large hook. It is not a duck hook but it travels off course about 50 yards. So I end up short of the fairway and it looks like I will not be able to use my drive. There are many huge trees guarding the creek on both sides of the fairway and if you travel short of the fairway or long you will not have a clear shot to the green especially if you are close to them. The trees are just too tall and the brush too thick.

So I am dead meat. He gets up and crunches another huge drive. He expects a nice draw or slight fade but gets nether as the ball sails straight as an arrow. He goes left of the 150 stake so we are expecting it to be around the 100 yard marker but we are not sure if it goes to far and into the rough on the other side close to the trees.

As it ends up, I am short and in the creek and he is long and in the creek which is dry on both sides. But the creek is surrounded on both sides by trees and lots of undergrowth. We have to take a stroke penalty and pull his ball out. We do that and hit the green on three and two putt for a boogie five. Now we are two over after seven. Still in good shape. But things are about to take a dangerous change.

The dreaded eighth hole is a par three and surrounded on three sides with water. The green is very small and it is 154 yards at the whites and we hare hitting the ball due west. To add to the problems with this hole, the wind is always in our face and usually left to right. The prevailing wind is always out of the south west and that is right in our face for this shot.

If the shot is off line by anything as small as 5 degrees the wind will take it into the water, unless you aim left of the green. It is very rare that two or more golfers will be safe after hitting their balls. Normally three of four or all four will be in the water. it is not a hole for poor golfers. To add to the misery, late in the day, like it is when we play, the sun is starting to set and it is right in our vision.

I personally will over club by at least three so that I can get over the water, assuming I hit the ball OK. I do that because of the wind and fear of hitting short. That leaves me with a shot from the inbankment or in one of the three traps behind the green. A tough shot by itself.

There is another problem. If you hit it right or left with a longer iron or even a pin high shot you will be required to hit Kamagra cheapest over the water again to get onto the green as the water goes far enough back to consider this a peninsula green. That means you will have two shots over the water and if you hit it too hard it will travel through the green and go into the water on the other side. The green is relatively flat 6buy cheap levitra but there is a slight pitch down hill from back to front.

What a miserable hole. I have tried many ways to beat it but because I am only now starting to swing a little better, I have lost more balls then I can count. My chance of making par on this hole is one in twenty but I have birdied this hole on two occasions. Pure LUCK! No skill involved.

This has gotten long so in my next post I will discuss the play.
