Which Driver Gives me better Golf Scores

Better Golf Scores – Which driver gives me the best golf scores but first I want to tell you that most of these events occurred previously and the tails about my current golfing scores have been occurring over the summer.

It is October as I post these but the current events happened June, July, August and September of 2010.

If you are just now starting to read my blog I would advise that you go to the beginning and read back up to current so that you understand how life got in front of golf and what led to the loss of my golf swing and how I am getting it back.

Now to see what these drivers could do for me and my golf scores.

Well here I am at my Monday league with three drivers in my bag. On the first hole I try a 9 degree lofted driver. I hit it and it felt pretty good. The drive was low and it went out there pretty far. I used it for three drives and then I pulled out the driver that had a 10.5 degree loft and a reverse taper grip.

Wow, that one seemed much better. The ball would take off and fly pretty high and went about 20 yards further than the 9 degree. I used it for three drives and liked it a lot. For the final drive I hit one that had 10.5 degree loft and a soft fatter grip. It was called the Launcher and I could not believe what happened when I hit that club.

First off it hit with a loud “ping”. It was by far the noisiest club. People all around new that I had hit that club. Second, when I hit it, the trajectory was so high I lost site of it. It was like hitting a wedge, it went that high. But I was amazed, it went the farthest of the three clubs by quite a margin.

I remember watching the flight of the ball and thinking back to the pros hitting their balls at St. Andrews in Scotland and the broadcast station using that tracker with a trail to watch the flight of the ball and thinking that is exacting what mine was doing. Holy crap. This was hole number nine and it is about 285 yards. Well I did not land on the green with my drive as I pulled it a little left but it did land in the sand trap next to the green pin high.

Could this be true? Cold I hit a golf ball 285 yards again? Or was this just a freak, not to be duplicated again.

Also, with all three drivers I was hitting the ball good enough to have a decent shot at the green. This resulted in better golf scores for the round. I shot a 38 in the scrambles and was darn happy with that result. That was with 17 putts, so that is something I need to work on.

Well I had to wait until Wednesday at the other league and try this club again.

I just want to mention something here. All three drivers were not new, they had been well used and the grips on all three were in need of replacement. But to me they were like having a new club. Especially when you compare it to my old driver and the one my friend let me use that was about 200 ccs. They felt alive and ready for action and I was a willing participant.

See my next post about that day and better golf scores.
